Welcome to the new Zingpix! We have been working lately to make your visit easier and much more pleasurable. I also like the interactive capabilities of having a"blog" site even if I don't consider myself a blogger.
I love to shoot herding dogs at work, rest and play. That is
where most my photography income is made – shooting dogs. It’s a good life.
I appologize for having to add copyright watermarks to my images. I know it destroys the feeling of the images but many of my images are licensed and I have the obligation to my customers to try to protect them.
Thanks so much for stopping by and spending a few moments with ZingPix.
Be safe,
Jeff (the guy with a camera and a cup of coffee)
Be sure to click on the "Pages" tab above - I am slowly adding Galleries.
I was thinking of a way to catch these little guys and then I decided to use some off-camera flash, Strobist style. The exposure was easy to set up with a bare Vivitar 285HV from the area of the camera and another bare Vivitar 285HV under and behind the Hummingbird. I used Cybersync triggers (they work great!). I used my Canon 5D set at 1/200th to sync with the flashes. The flash duration is about 1/1000th so you get a nice under exposed blur of the wings and then a punch of light to give definition to the wings and properly expose the rest of the bird. Depth of field is very shallow and that was the greatest challenge. These guys won’t stay still for more than a nano second.
I spent most of yesterday with a camera in hand and watching some fun activities. I got to shoot some dogs just for fun - no expectations, no structure, no stress. Connor (GSD) and Ozzie (Kelpie) were both named honorary ACDs for the day.
June 10, 2009 - 9:33 amDedieu-Hoessler - Hello !
I have seen your web site on flikr...
The mixt with english and french in your description is very funny.
Have you a Kelpie ?
I search one so if you can help me to find an australian kelpie "elevage" ... tell me with a mail.
Thanks very much. I love your pictures. Very great job.
I just noticed a video I uploaded to You Tube has surpassed 100,000 views. The ACD video was the first and there are a few rough spots. I followed the Australian Cattle Dog video with an Australian Shepherd video. The second video is a bit smoother and more refined but has fewer views.
I really do shoot things other than dogs. Here are a few examples I got recently while watching the sun come up over the Tulip fields in Skagit County, Washington.
Well, things are coming along and I think this site is looking much better than the tired old one that has now been replaced. Big thanks to Bret at http://www.workshed.com. He is one slick html’er or whatever he’s called. I just know he knows his stuff and his award-winning creative agency is a great place to go to to get web stuff done or maybe record your next CD.

I continue to be impressed by the slideshow you put together for the front page of http://cascadeacdclub.com. Including the one of my Rocket in his pirate costume! Jim
